Abstract
We experienced adenosine induced flow arrest to facilitate clip ligation of intracranial aneurysm. We administered adenosine at a dose of 0.3 mg/kg and achieved approximately 40 seconds of profound systemic hypotension. This allowed successful aneurysm clip ligation without clinical side effects. Adenosine appears to allow safe flow arrest during intracranial aneurysm surgery. However, we should more refine dose-response relationship, pharmacokinetic properties, complications and future directions.
